Our Story

Every great journey needs a compass.

I started Community Compass Accounting & Advisory because I kept seeing the same thing: passionate founders, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits doing incredible work — but feeling overwhelmed by their finances or struggle to find the proper support. Numbers felt like a roadblock instead of a tool. I knew it didn’t have to be that way.

With over 15 years of experience in finance, bookkeeping, and strategy, I built Community Compass to help people find clarity, confidence, and direction in their financial journey. My mission is simple: take the stress out of money and systems so you can focus on what matters most: your vision, your work, and your impact.

It’s important to us that our clients feel empowered, not just supported. We teach, guide, and give you the tools to confidently engage with your finances.

Hi, I’m Gill 👋 — founder, finance professional, and big believer that money doesn’t have to be scary.

  • Background: 15+ years in accounting and finance, with a strong focus on nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.

  • What drives me: I love strategy, systems, and problem-solving. More than that,  I love helping people feel empowered by their numbers.

  • Fun fact: When I’m not organizing books and building systems, you’ll usually find me with coffee in hand, getting cozy on the couch, or cheering on other women in business.
